Abstract :
The Power plant flue gas of coal-fired units are in addition to the sulfur removal system (Flue Gas Desulfurization, referred to as FGD) wet limestone/gypsum, in need of using a lot of fresh water and limestone, which can be the formation of another waste problem. The sea water flue gas desulphurization system, the sulfur removal efficiency can reach 90% or more. Large coal-fired units almost have sea water flue gas desulphurization system, and Formosa Plastics Mailiao power plant in Taiwan has also pioneered the use of the international community. The aim of the study are to compare the advantages and disadvantages of limestone and seawater method. The advantages and disadvantages of the sulfur remove system operators are expected to explore the practical operation of the seawater FGD.
