Abstract :
Before a synchronous generator puts into operation, it may be suddenly connected to the grid by accident and led to be an asynchronous operation under high-slip condition, that can cause serious damage to the rotor. This paper analyzes the rotor wedge temperature under above condition, calculation results show that the temperature will increase rapidly, and then the mechanical strength of the rotor wedge will lose, finally, the rotor wedge may escape from the rotor for centrifugal force.
