Abstract :
WARP is an electrostatic particle-in-cell code that is optimized for studies of space-charge-dominated beams. A description is presented of the code architecture and numerical techniques employed to enhance efficiency. A simple algorithm is then described for following a beam around a bend, and results are presented on bent-beam dynamics and transverse emittance evolution. The code´s most recent feature, a general-lattice capability structured to preserve the efficiency of the particle advance, is discussed, and initial results using it are presented.<>
