Abstract :
Addresses the implementation of an automated system for the collection, processing, archiving and distribution of scientific data products. Emphasizing practical aspects of software reuse and algorithm integration, the authors discuss the development of a ground-based data system for an upcoming Earth Observing System (EOS) mission, concluding with a discussion of the current and future benefits derived from a modular system design and from deliberate efforts to maximize the system´s reusability
