Abstract
The possible market for variable speed drives (VSDs) covers almost all applications of electric motors. However, the additional cost of VSDs limits their market share in many areas. To increase the use of VSDs, there must be research into the design of cheaper motor drive combinations. This paper takes a first step in this direction, investigating simulations of induction motor performance with different power supplies
