Abstract :
This paper proposes parameterised models to predict segregated stray load losses (SLL) at full load in the stator and rotor of caged induction machines. By analysing iron losses obtained from Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in the context of the proposed circuit models, the behaviour of stray load loss admittance elements is determined, and associated models to be developed. The model parameters are identified using the differential evolution algorithm. It is found that it is necessary to include the excess loss component in SLL conductances. Furthermore, the SLL inductance behaviour is shown to be related to the mutual flux. The models are compared with experimental data.
