Abstract :
A common assessment methodology for all COTS operating systems. Comparable assurance for bespoke and COTS software is based on equivalent assurance objectives. These are based on SW01 and could form the basis of a set of harmonised assessment criteria. A common position on the limitations of use of current COTS operating systems could be developed.
