Abstract :
A new HDTV signal processing system for extended gamut signal transmission is proposed in this paper. The system has determined the gamut of Pointer colors as target gamut, and transmit all Pointer colors by designing a new set of chroma signal. Moreover, the capability of decreasing color difference of the new system is evaluated. Compared with the system of ITU-R BT.1361, the average color difference DeltaEmacr00* was calculated according to CIEDE2000, and DeltaEmacr00* is 0.2755 for the new system, while DeltaEmacr00* is 0.5011 for the system with ITU-R BT.1361.
