Abstract
This paper presents an analytical method for image analysis and reconstruction of still images using the complex Gabor (1946) wavelets. The Gabor wavelet is one of the most widely used complex wavelets, and has been used for image texture analysis and segmentation, motion estimation, image analysis, signal processing and face authentication. However no straightforward method is available to extract the wavelet coefficients. An analytical method for image expansion-reconstruction of still images using the Gabor function is presented for the first time
