  • Abstract
To explore the method of evaluating basal health status quantitatively with age as a probe, the statistical analysis about disease attack and the efficiency of recovery was conducted by using life table with national population census in 1982, 1990 and 2000 in Mainland, China. The cumulative survival probabilities in different age groups were calculated. Cumulative survival probabilities were 97.9% in 44 years old and 6.5% over 85 years old, respectively. According to the occurrences of disease attack and the recovery efficiency, we could define life time as four phases with age as the probe: 0-44 years old as healthy phase, 4569 years old as easy-onset disease phase, 70-90 years old as high-onset disease phase and over 90 years old as survival risk phase. Healthy people over 90 years old in China could be considered as long-lived population.
