Abstract :
This paper examines the chaotic and multifractal characteristics of the electrocardiogram (ECG) through its time series. Although multifractalities exist in the reconstructed strange attractor we find some limitations of strange attractor reconstruction from low-rate sampled (333 Hz) ECG signals by investigating the convergence of the false nearest neighbours and the Renyi dimension. The reconstruction parameters, lag of 4 and embedding dimension of 7, are obtained from experiments
