Abstract :
A combination of pre-dawn airborne thermal infrared imagery, Landsat TM imagery and GIS land use data were used in a preliminary assessment of seepage from an earthen irrigation supply channel (canal). Surface seepage was not detected, but deep seepage appeared to be occurring from the channel into permeable layers associated with prior stream/paleo-channel networks, where the channel crossed or ran along these networks
