Abstract :
The modulation-bandwidth enhancement of VCSELs with a passive optical-feedback-cavity is demonstrated, which enables us to tailor the modulation-transfer function. The 3dB-bandwidth is increased by a factor of 2, reaching far beyond the relaxation-oscillation frequency.
