Abstract :
The potential for using NOAA-AVHRR data for dynamic flood monitoring has been tested in the Senegal River Valley. Because of the coarse spatial resolution, the number of mixed pixels is large and it has been necessary to apply subpixel analyses for mapping the extent of inundated areas. Linear mixture modelling has been tested as well as matched filtering. The latter has shown very promising results
