Abstract :
Because of the higher efficiency, higher power factor, higher power density and better dynamic performance, there is ever increasing attention to applying permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) to traction system. In this paper, a design method which is based on the maximum torque per ampere was introduced and a 303 kW internal permanent magnet permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) with two-layer permanent magnet rotor configuration has been designed. A new FEM simulation method by the ansoft software was also presented in this paper. The experimental result reflects that the analysis method has a very high accuracy.
