Abstract
With the use of computer technologies in many fields, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) has been playing an increasingly important role in the teaching of English. Multimedia do show their great potential and advantages in English teaching, bringing great convenience and power to English lessons, especially in enhancing the knowledge input and making the English classes interesting, lively. However, the above-mentioned advantages of using multimedia are based on the premise that multimedia are properly used. In the paper, good and bad effects of Computer Assisted Language Learning on English teaching are analyzed so that English teachers can make full use of computer in there teaching.
