Abstract :
The conflicting condition, which generates not only EM interactions during plasma disruptions but also the thermal expansion during a baking, can be solved by making the support system, in principle, rigid in the vertical direction and soft in the radial direction, adopting Hilman roller and leaf spring concepts. In this paper a preliminary design concept of the leaf spring is presented. A parametric study using analytic equations, and results of 3D structure analysis with 180° model of the vessel including the support system are also discussed
