Abstract :
A generalized technique for dealing with linear optical element offsets in a complicated beamline is discussed. It has been tested in the SLC final focus and proved to be successful. A certain limitation to the method such as uncertainty about the energy/bend strength mismatch is expected to be overcome with the incorporation of extra monitoring devices in future alignment attempts.<>
