Abstract :
The purpose of this research effort was to develop a demonstration system of systems (SoS) simulation tool overcoming several of the more critical and unresolved issues in conducting efficient SoS modeling and simulation. Prior exploration of SoS modeling and simulation identified the following issues as critical and generally unresolved: 1) rapid tailoring and integration of object models, 2) rapid definition and update of interface models, and 3) formatting, control and update of model parameters across flexibly defined SoS models. The study objectives were to develop the prototype simulation tool and conduct sufficient testing to validate it and the mechanisms selected for overcoming each of the above listed issues. The paper describes the tool user interfaces, the means selected for resolving each of the identified issues, and the results of the initial validation effort.
