Abstract :
In this paper, experimental results from the operation of a prototype of wireless indoor optical transceiver based on frequency hopping techniques are presented. The use of spread spectrum techniques allows multiple simultaneous access and increases the robustness of the system against multipath-induced distortion and narrowband interference (as could be low frequency optical noise from fluorescence or incandescence lamps). FHSS techniques also allows co-existence with IrDA or emote control emitting devices without interference.
