Abstract
The evolution of computer technology renders servers, workstations, computers and even mobile devices more and more powerful. This leads to their increased use and storage of data. Data warehouses may contain large quantities of sensitive information. Therefore, data privacy is a very important aspect of data publishing. The best method for protecting data privacy is data anonymity. The use of anonymous data improves the degree of privacy provided by data warehouses. However, data anonymity alone is never enough for protecting the privacy of sensitive information, requiring database security also. In this paper we propose a multi-layer approach to database anonymity based on a multi-layer security infrastructure. From an anonymity perspective, we have developed an engine that provides both static and dynamic means of securing sensitive data. Also, the temporal aspect of a dynamic database in time leads to an alteration of possible inferences. Also, in this paper we focused on securing the communication, the operating system and the database server.
