Abstract
Voice over Internet Protocol benefits of the existing Internet infrastructure, but also has to fight Internet security threats. Along with the Internet growth, the malicious activity of malware has driven the development of security devices and tools designed to protect both the hosts and network resources. In this project, we present the impact for both the encryption algorithm and the authentication methods over the firewall performance. We measured the added load to a dedicated firewall solution if VoIP traffic would be encrypted. The given results can be used in designing and implementing VoIP networks.
