Abstract :
Socio-economic development and mitigating climate change are two significant, yet conflicting challenges facing sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Though energy is essential to sustainable development, the growing use of conventional sources is contributing to climate change. This paper evaluates the potential for renewable resources to meet Africa´s energy needs.
