Abstract
In most industrial settings, the microstructure of magnetic materials is usually ignored, since the bulk properties are the ones specified for magnetic applications. However, by understanding magnetic interactions at the microscopic level, a greater understanding of the bulk properties of magnetic materials can be gained. The goal of this paper is to provide a brief introduction to some micromagnetic concepts, show how bulk magnetic properties can be explained from this viewpoint, and help the magnet user develop a greater intuition of magnetic material properties and behaviors
