Abstract :
In view of the complexity and synthesis characteristic of urban design, we propose an effective method - "Basket-Cabinet Methodology", which exists in the public information management domain to deal with the complicated problems. Base on the concept of this method, we construct its space model, and point out that it has intuitional, scientific, multiplex, and flexible features to be suitable for the urban design program. Taking Jilin Songhua Riversides Comprehensive Design for example, we elaborate the basic principle of the "Basket-Cabinet Methodology" to be applied to the urban design process as follows: the determination of research direction, the selection of key point, the establishment of plan strategy and the implementation of circulatory adjustment, making preliminary research on the cooperation of "Basket-Cabinet Methodology" and urban design.
