    This paper briefly introduces Three Gorges Hydroelectric Station (TGHS) at Sandouping, China, Three Gorges Power Grid (TGPG) and the nationwide interconnected grid promoted by TGHS. The factors upon which the TGHS supply area is based are briefly discussed, as are the main criteria applied in the planning of the TGPG
