Abstract
This paper reports the developments in the methodology for analysis of transient stability limit conditions. Concepts, including corrected potential energy and corrected potential energy boundary surface, are presented. Efficient criteria in identifying first swing stability behavior are also developed and used in hybrid method incorporating corrected transient energy margin (CTEM) analysis. Test results on real size power systems, such as the 10-machine New England and 50-generator IEEE test systems, show that the corrected TEM offers a promising means to evaluate transient stability limit conditions of power system even for that including HVDC links
