  • Abstract
    This paper presents an improved single-phase transformer model to analyse the performance of the transformer under DC bias. By using MATLAB, the magnetization characteristics and excitation current based on Jiles-Atherton theory are simulated. Thus using ANSYS, two-dimension magnetic field of the transformer is calculated. The calculation results show that the leakage flux would increase under DC bias. This is the reason why transformers have more serious local heat under DC biasing condition.
