Abstract
We proposed an optically selective chemical detection method using a Polydimethylsiloxine (PDMS)-coated Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor. When the PDMS is exposed to a solvent, the swelling amount of PDMS is dependent on the swelling ratio of the solvent. Therefore, we can detect about solvent type according to the amount of Bragg wavelength shift induced by the selective tensile effects of the coated PDMS.
