Abstract :
It is efficient, low-cost and agile to employ computer software for analyzing and verifying characteristic of protective relaying as well as designing and ameliorating new protection criterion. A new kind of software simulation system for computer protection is proposed for carrying out closed-loop simulation based on ATP/EMTP protection module which remarkably improved the accuracy of transient analysis. As expansion, output file of simulation software such as ATP/EMTP and PSCAD/EMTDC could be used as input of the simulation system, protection logic could be managed with VC++ protection program. The simulation system outputs figure and data of typical relay characteristics and protection logic. The software is agile to be used and the result is credible and visual.
