Abstract :
In this paper, the throughput of AOS protocol packet service under binary memoryless random error channel is studied. A throughput formula is given, and the impact of transfer frame length on throughput is also discussed. It is shown that an optimal AOS transfer frame length which maximizes the throughput under a certain bit error rate (BER) does exist, and its uniqueness is also verified. Finally, a channel adaptive strategy based on the BER values is proposed to control the frame length to obtain the maximum throughput. Simulation results show that compared with fixed length frame transmission, the proposed strategy can improve the throughput greatly.
