Abstract
CDMA2000 revision D introduces, among other things, reverse link enhancing features that can literally be considered a paradigm shift. In particular, hybrid ARQ (HARQ), 3 control mechanisms and 2 advanced mobile reporting techniques offer the tools necessary for the rapid and efficient coordination of high-rate mobile data transmissions. This paper focuses on the control mechanisms and examines how best to utilize them. System-level simulations then illustrate how they complement each other.
