Abstract
Logistics company efficiency literature mostly addressed profitability efficiency, overlooking marketability efficiency. This paper uses the proposed two-stage DEA approach to measure the profitability and marketability of logistics companies. An empirical study on 22 stock-traded logistics companies in China is performed. Results show that sample logistics companies acquire relatively lower level of profitability efficiency. There are seven logistics companies that obtain higher level of marketability profitability performance but lower level of profitability performance. Results also indicate that the lower scale efficiency is the major reason of lower technical efficiency of logistics companies.
