The Research of Cities´ Technological Potential in Metropolitan Region: The Case of Fujian Province

This paper makes studies on the cities´ technological potential in metropolitan region. It firstly introduces the main points about the spatial structure theory for metropolitan innovation system, explains the concept of city technological potential, and then presents a potential model of the spatial interaction theory. Then the research takes Fujian Province as a case to calculate the city technological potential and analyze the hierarchy accordingly. The difference between the case study and programming shows that the hierarchy of the metropolitan innovation system should be the result brought out by market rather than administrative instrument.
