On the base of study on the characteristic of the currently existing parallel operation model of wind power and the technology of fractional frequency transmission system (FFTS), wind power system connected to power grid via FFTS is presented in this paper. The system is modeled and simulated with MATLAB/SIMULINK. FFTS is suitable for low-frequency wind power, has help in reducing the wind turbine size and weight, and can reduce transmission line loss. Results show that the FFTS is an effective and potential way used in wind power system connected to power grid.
