Abstract :
This paper presents a concrete application of the theory of the continuous spectrum of a non-separable open waveguide by investigating the coupling between probes near a slotted ground plane. Knowledge of the complete spectrum of the slotted line allows the same approach as in a closed waveguide. By means of the Lorentz´ reciprocity theorem we extract an equivalent circuit taking into account the mutual coupling due to propagation through the slot as well as to radiation into the open space. The effectiveness and accuracy of the theoretical model is confirmed by experimental results.
