Abstract :
Tissue Doppler Echocardiography (TDE) method has been developed which permits quantification of the myocardial. In the clinic conventionally displacement is measured by use of color tissue Doppler imaging and there is no report of myocardial displacement based on integration of maximum myocardial velocity. The purpose of this study was a time integral assessment of spectral tissue Doppler by use of maximum traced data during systolic phase of cardiac cycle as a new method for evaluation of myocardium displacement. It performed by a developed computer program based on Simpson´s numerical integral method. Spectral tissue Doppler echocardiograms were saved as a full color images and transferred to a personal computer for off-line analysis with use of the proposed method. There were significant differences at 95% confidence level between the spectral and color tissue Doppler displacements respectively. By means of Bland-Altman analysis; arithmetic means was 7.49 and 6.96 mm with SD mean differences of plusmn2.74 mm and plusmn2.26 mm in all base and mid evaluated segments. The correlation of coefficient was R=0.79, (p<0.01) for all segments between the methods.
