Abstract
The paper presents a novel scheme for both downlink and uplink scheduling in WiMax networks that attempts to increasing the frame utilization in base station (BS) with the delay requirements of traffics. In the paper, it assumes a polling-based mode of operation at the base station (BS), and calculating frame duration by synthetically considering frame utilization and the subscribe stations (SSs) waiting queuing according to birth-death process analysis. In addition to theoretical analysis, simulations are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme.
