  • Abstract
Although many Distributed Time-scheduling MAC algorithms are under evaluation for vehicular Ad-hoc networks (VANET), they are still not fully applicable for VANET with requirements of transmission reliability and efficiency. In this paper, a mobility adaptive variety of RR-ALOHA is proposed to adapt to the diversity of node density and contention severity in VANET. By introducing CSMA into slot and making full use of 3-hops channel state, the proposed schema outperforms RR-ALOHA in several aspects. NS-2 simulation results show that the novel protocol improves the speed of Basic Channel (BCH) reservation as well as the quality of slot allocation.
