Abstract
We present a novel thermometric method based on microwave correlation radiometry. The element sensitive to temperature is a lossy coplanar line. The signal of a correlator (bandwidth 2 to 4 Gigahertz) connected to the two ports of the line is recorded as a function of the delay time of the correlator. The inversion of this interferogram, in terms of Kalman filtering, provides the temperature distribution along the line. A possible application consists in the implantation of such a lossy line in an electronic circuit in order to carry out a temperature retrieval inside the device.
