Abstract
The key to executing saturation throughput analysis of IEEE 802.11 Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) is to set up an accurate slotted analytical model. Combined with a simplified analysis of capture effect, an improved slotted analytical model based on capture probability is proposed in this paper. By means of our proposed model, saturation throughput analysis of IEEE 802.11 DCF under capture effect is performed, and the close-form expression of its normalized saturation throughput is derived. The results from numerical calculation and computer simulation show that the theoretical analysis results when capture effect is taken into account accord with the simulation results better, by contrast with the theoretical results without regard to capture effect.
