Abstract :
This paper proposes a method that shortens the switching time to an affiliated channel when the receiving channel´s mobile reception is disrupted and includes two processes. The first is a broadcast area map generation process that generates a database that indicates the receivable area of the digital broadcasters by sampling information of the current reception status and the current position. The second is an automatic channel switching process to an affiliated channel that is achieved by referencing the generated broadcast area map. Our method´s effectiveness was shown using a prototype receiver in real test drive fields.
