  • Abstract
A new way to use Posicast principles to damp oscillations in lightly damped systems is proposed in this paper. Specifically it is suggested that the Posicast technique be used within a feedback system, instead of the classical feedforward configuration. There are many types of Posicast, but attention is focused here on the classical "half-cycle" Posicast. A design example is presented with comparison to classical feedforward Posicast and classical PID control. The simulation results demonstrate improved robustness to modeling uncertainty and smoother control in the presence of measurement noise.
