Abstract
A new UNIX-based software system has been developed to process the data acquired by the new SEAMAP and HAWAII MR1 instruments. The goals of the software development were efficient shipboard creation of complete bathymetry and sidescan-mosaics, easy operability, and preservation of the original data together with a log of all transformations applied to it. The software is organized into two acquisition and post-processing subsystems, with the latter subsystem being subdivided into bathymetric processing, sidescan processing and mosaic generation. The post-processing subsystem features a highly interactive visual interface with extensive on-line help
