Abstract
The paper discusses how flicker prediction can be directly achieved by means of a spectral analysis of voltage. Weighing the spectral components in inverse proportion to the flicker perceptibility threshold is the main concept, proposed in a previous paper by the same authors. That approach is here improved and subjected to the IEC flickermeter calibration tests. The results of comparative applications of this approach and of the IEC flickermeter to numerical and experimental data are discussed and analyzed.
