Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of the effects of superconducting fault current limiter on the enhancement of generator transient stability and suppression of turbine shaft torque oscillations as well as limiting of fault current during short circuit faults. The analysis is performed in terms of instantaneous values using EMTP(ATP). It is concluded that the high resistance type fault current limiter is effective for the three purposes stated above
