  • Abstract
An exercise has been done to optimize design methodology for a 20 dB gain, 2.5 W, two octaves amplifier chain. Two key parameters for a project engineer, global cost and cham power added efficiency, have been optimized, using both a theoretical cost model and a practical design approach. This methodology led to clear out the two main issues on integration level and on electrical structures. The first foundry run results are presented, agreeing well with theoretical models.
