Abstract :
The support of quality assurance activities has been almost forgotten in recent CASE tools. This paper reviews the potential quality aspects to be supported by means of quality-oriented CASE tools, and focuses attention on quality-driven validation (QDV). This method is tied to software development which is based on the active use of software quality characteristics in order to assure congruence with customer needs and is focused especially on object-oriented software. A prototype for a (QDV) support tool is also presented. The prototype illustrates the new characteristics which advanced graphical editors, as parts of CASE tools, should support in the future
