Abstract :
In this paper, we present a fast important area detection algorithm which is applicable to the photo album on mobile devices. Conventional algorithms have tried to detect the salient area itself without consideration of photo album layouts. In addition, since most mobile devices support the portrait view and the landscape view, the important area should be adaptive to the view direction immediately. To solve these problems, we propose the fast algorithm which alleviates the computational complexity of the ROI detection on mobile devices.
