Abstract :
At the K.U.Leuven, last year graduate students in telecommunications complete a real-life microwave design problem. In a time span of 14 weeks the whole design, consisting of analysis, realisation, measurements and evaluation is completed. The purpose of this design is fourfold: the students become familiar with microwave-design and microwave design software, they acquire some feeling for microwaves, the classical exercises are replaced by a more challenging task and the number of traditional examinations is reduced by replacing a number of them by this design task.
